During the month of February, all 7th Grade students will participate in an African American Biography Research Project. My class will have the choice of selecting an African American that is famous for becoming a civil right activist, government official, scientist, or an inventor. Students will work in partnership with another student and have a week to do research and plan a presentation that includes their research showcased on a trifold board and a flyer. Students will present their research at an exhibition scheduled in the media center for their peers, parents, and administration to experience. Students will be graded individually for their research and in partnership for their presentation. Attached are the research component requirements and rubric. On this page are approved research websites. Also attached is the list of approved African Americans to research.
